The fans are pretty nice and a reasonable value. The had extra bits of string that I’m afraid to cut off… Also absolutely did not smell like sandalwood, cedar or anything at all.They come in very handy when I go dancing and I get to be generous and cool by having extra in my purse and gifting them to friends and strangers ??While they might be made from sandalwood, the only scent is a slight mustiness.The cutouts in the fan blades are not sawn, they are stamped out with what seems to be dull stamps so the edges of the detail are pretty rough.The fishing line used to hold the blades in place is sloppy with most of the fans with 4 or 5 inches of line dangling on each side of the fan.For Just over $1 each, they are an OK buy. If I saw them for a buck in a store (where I could examine them before purchase) I might not get them if I had other choices, or did not have an immediate need.Some of the fans were damaged and not usableI bought these to have around the house and my purse for my hot flashes. They are very cute but smaller than I expected and they are hard to keep open while you are fanning yourself.If you need fans as a gift or a prop, these will work. If you want fans that are really good at fanning air conveniently, you can get better.The fans are small and lightwright, but you get a bunch of them, so the value is good.I am pleased with the look and quality of the fans, but they don’t smell at all like sandalwood. They don’t have a smell at all really.Half the fans broke within 10 minutes of opening. Not very sturdy.Keep in mind these are made out of bamboo. They’re actually pretty sturdy given the paper thin fan blades. Spray painted mine but also beautiful with nothing on them. The intricate design is awesome I lava these fans.
